I was born on December 14, 1952 in
Lakeland Florida, to the family of Grady and Ila Bennett. Most of my life has
been spent in and around Franklin County. My earlier education was
received at the Canon Elementary school. By the way, Canon
is a very small town about ninety-five miles north of Atlanta, Ga. For my high school years I attended Franklin
County High
School located in Carnesville, Ga. I graduated from there June of
1970.
After graduation I went to Elbert County
Vocational School of Practical Nursing. I graduated in 1971 with a
degree of practical nursing. I later passed my state board
exam and became a full fledge Licensed Practical Nurse.
I attended Anderson College located in Anderson S.
C. for three semesters, then transfered to Emmanuel College in 1974. This is
where I met my wonderful
husband. We were married September 28, 1975.
I feel like this is the place where I should give my
salvation testimony. I attended Church all my life and was
very religious. I thought salvation was going down and shaking the
preacher's hand and joining the Church. I did this at the age
of thirteen. I never heard the true gospel. When I
married Bro. Dan, I knew he had something I didn't. I convinced
myself that everything was all right, but I knew in my heart that I
had never asked the Precious Lord to come into my heart and become my
Savior. The Holy Spirit began to convict my
heart, and during an old fashioned revival meeting, I went to the
altar and asked the Lord to save me. That was 17 years ago, and now I have what Bro. Dan has. Praise the Lord!
Now back to my education. I attended Bethany
Baptist Bible College in Dothan, Alabama. I received my Graduate
of Religious Education in 1989.
I taught at Christian school that we had at the
Church for seven years, then when the school closed I home schooled my
daughters. The Lord has blessed us with two precious girls.
Amy Leah born Dec. 10, 1976,
and Alisha Gail born
September 22, 1978. They are truly blessings to us.
I love
being a pastor's wife, and praise the Lord for our congregation.
